Bass

Bassist and guitarist, Dan Asher, has been busy performing and teaching in the New York area for the past 15 years. After graduating from Lawrence University in 2001, Mr. Asher's active schedule has included performances at legendary jazz venues such as Birdland, the Blue Note, Smalls, and Rockwood Music Hall, covering a wide range of music including Jazz, Rock, R&B, Afro-Cuban and Brazilian. An in demand sideman, he performs regularly with members of the Mahavishnu Orchestra, Snarky Puppy, the great pianist David Berkman and most recently with the celebrated Japanese trumpet legend Shunzo Ono. A regular fixture of the St. Barth music rotation in the West Indies, he has been in the house band for guest artists such as Jimmy Buffet, as well as David Bryan of Bon Jovi. Mr. Asher is also a member of the Broadway Boys, a talented group of vocalists and instrumentalists who continue to pack theaters and jazz venues all over the country with their improvisational takes on current Broadway repertoire. Mr. Asher also maintains an active teaching schedule with private students and ensembles throughout the Tri-State area. His teaching positions have included teaching bass, guitar, and running ensembles at the Enchanted Garden and the New York Jazz Academy in addition to the Wilton Conservatory, where he has taught for the past 10 years.
