Hamid Raouf Habibzadah

Hamid Raouf Habibzadah is a professional tabla player hailing from a musical family in Herat, Afghanistan. Having learned tabla and harmonium from his brother, a professional classical singer in Herat, Hamid became a fixture at a young age at weddings, concerts, and private parties in Afghanistan. He has continued his studies with teachers in India and, since his arrival to the United States in 2021, has nationally toured with the Heart of Afghanistan ensemble. He is well-versed in Indian and Afghan tabla rhythms and is currently based in Alexandria, VA where he performs with the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra.
