Broadcast: Brooklyn Raga Massive + Go: Organic Orchestra Present Ragmala

BRM joins Detroit's 29th Annual Concert of Colors with a special broadcast of Ragmala: Brooklyn Raga Massive + Go: Organic Orchestra. Originally taped at Brooklyn's iconic venue Roulette, this concert rebroadcast showcases one of BRM's most ambitious projects that brings together “Two of the most interesting bands in the USA” (London Jazz Times) into a synergistic exploration of raga, India’s classical music and contemporary creative music.  Composer Adam Rudolph’s hypnotic polyrhythmic explorations propel a spontaneous conducted group of over 20 musicians including legends of the African-American creative music, such as Hamid Drake and Gnawa master musician Hassan Hakmoun.

The 29th Annual Concert of Colors is Detroit’s most beloved free, global music festival that will be a blend of live, broadcast and streamed events for eight exciting days Monday, August 2-Monday, August 9. The list of greats from around the world include Roy Ayers, Melvin Davis, Souad Massi, Organic Orchestra & Brooklyn Raga Massive and acts from Haiti, Japan, Uganda and other countries. The Don Was All Star Detroit Revue returns for a spectacular tribute to George Clinton.
